Peace activists in Minnesota are getting excited for their upcoming trip to Freedom Plaza in Washington DC, the nation's capital. They are painting messages on their pup tents organizing car pools and are bringing peace kites and banners. Some even decided to practice for their 'Stop the Machine' camp-in skills they'll be putting to use beginning on October 6, 2011.

Love you, brothers and sisters. I live in southern VA near the NC border. My tent and sleeping bag are already in the car. My children and friends in the DC area are meeting me there. We are raring to go and won't leave until we stop the goddamned war machine.

We did successfully camp on Freedom Plaza a couple nights!! It was the start of great actions and messaging. It's a long story about this little tent as the DC Park Police first threatened to seize it but eventually they let people put up their tents. We left a bigger but very well painted peace tent on the plaza for others to use when we left.
