  • I wish Mr.Hitchcock could tell me stories like these everyday

  • Brilliant, I think the purpose of the first story was that suspense stimulates the mind so much that you make up stuff in your mind that never existed

  • Did anyone else draw several connections between Hitchcock's first story and his 1954 masterpiece, Rear Window? Man and woman live in a small town, wife goes missing, husband eventually suspected of murder, onlookers baffled by lack of evidence, a garden is involved (also, people start "digging" up the garden in search for the woman), police get involved, etc.

Just an observation! Love Hitchcock. Truly a master of his craft and a captivating storyteller.

  • Well, Hitchcock does it again - a genuinely talented talesmith..

  • What's funny about this story is the fact that leprosy is actually not all that contagious. Typically one can only acquire it from someone who has recently contracted it and is showing the signs.

  • @aghettowhale He says verbatim: "you see, we have another daughter, that you have never met. And she is the reason why we live here... because, you see... she's a leper." (term meaning someone with leprosy)

  • well its because our other daughter is a leopard. mmmrawr.

  • @eladbari I was wondering the same thing. Still don't know what he said :(

  • The second story Hitchcock tells is a short story called "The Visitor" by Roald Dahl. A lot of Roald Dahl's twisted short stories were adapted for Alfred Hithcock's television show. Just some random information if anyone cares.

  • I've always wanted to tell Hitchcock's oasis story to friends, but I feel compelled to recite it in a British accent, because it's so effective. Problem is, I'm from Northern California...

  • no wonder why he´s the greatest director in history, the way he tells stories is just amazing!

  • I don't think Tom understood the second story.

This interview must have wetted his seat...
