Taking the merc for a drive in the snow with all-year-round tyres, not good combination. ;)

  • Nice landscape ! I think I am going to migrate to Sweden ;-)

  • @w124250d1992 hehe yeah you do so! ;) sadly this winter we didnt have the snow for long. the last 2 years it has been about 1-2 meters of snow. ;)

  • man, i admire you how you dive so calmly with it :D

my 300D wants to do a little drift even on wet asphalt... now i'm lucky we are short on snow :D

the moment it was snowing the car was sliding all time ... and corners i take ussaly on 40km'h i take now on 15km/h ... i still do epic drifts... with new winter tires....

when i accelerate for fun... than its hell :D

  • @AldaryLV hehe thanks, its a lovely car to drive, tail happy aswell if you give it a go. but i enjoy cruising with it, just not like other cars. ;)

  • @EssexBoy696969 and 340 000kms. (if its original) :P

hehe i do feel quite old fashion when i say that my car is much better than new ones 'cus i can service it myself, it dont need a computer connected to it on an expensive work shop.

And i promise i will take care of her! handling on snow and ice is no problem.

And a Merry Christmas for you Essex! ;)

  • @EssexBoy696969 Yeah, i mean after all the snow on that hill in the beginning was about 10cm / 3rd of a foot of snow. and i do not really have the correct deep snow tecnique yet, my dad tried and he got further up but no chance of getting to the top. Yes the steeringbox is worn so there is a gap in the steering by an inch or so. I need something heavy in the back to give better traction. ;)

I'm not surprised! i dunno if my water pump is changed either and it has hold 28 years

  • She looked to be handling fine CK - although no doubt your steering felt even more vague than normal for a W123! Keep safe and look after her in that snow.

Just fitted a new water pump - first thing I've paid out for in many years - so not bad considering the pump I replaced was 33 years old!

Meanwhile, My Wife's two year old Mini is still in and out of the garage with computer diagnostic problems - pile of BMW manufactured trash!

Have a great Christmas CK.....and keep that W123 polished!
