Don't let that dead laptop battery ruin your life. Repacking a old ibook battery with new cells is a easy operation. Within 10 minutes and $30 you can have a battery that lasts twice as long as the original.

A single strap of tape around the main battery cluster holds them aligned as you put on the end conductors.

where can i find the battery?? it looks odd w/o any thingy in + side and how can i change my 6 cell battery to a 9cell?

@Ltb0b I know how to, and it is. Theres so many risks with this method! Mainly the tools being metal! There has to be a safer way

I recoment you do NOT try this... I was oppening a old toshiba one that didnt hold a charge. Yea.... 2 cells seriosly damages and becoming molten hot and a thirf taking damage

Can anyone (Sklarm) tell me how to open the battery - couldn't find any screws or something, all I could do is ruin plastic with my screwdriver :(

be patient opening the battery. Use a small flat head screw driver and slowly go around the case just opening it a little bit at a time. This can take several minutes to do well, and less than a minute to just destroy plastic.

Yes, this type of replacement is almost identical on most PC batteries. Especially ones that are over 2 years old.
