Hobie Trifoiler #41 Dean Lucko & Jim Desalvo Sailing off Port Clinton, OH. Summer 1998. Recording boat speed using older "SpeedMate" technology. The LCD display is picking up a pulse of spinning magnet attached to a propeller mounted to the rudder of the Trifoiler. Lift off speed is about 15-17 MPH, where as our top speed for the day was about 31MPH. Jimmy is at the controls, and I'm sitting in the backseat both recording and holding the "SpeedMate"/LCD.
That trifoiler, i've decided that i wanna get one just like that, but aren't these out of production now?
If so, i'm thinking of making one of carbon fiber although i have to learn that as well.
How much did those cost back then?
Couldn't be very cheap, were they?
How about safety?
Seems to be very stable on water, it's even potential space for storage!
And this hobie is amazing as well, now tell me, what do i need to know? =D
