The 18th Amendment was ratified a year earlier but didn't take effect until Jan. 1920. However, some states already had state-wide bans on alcoholic beverages, so bootlegging would have already been taking place.

The "Third Baseman" of those White Sox was Buck Weaver, and Buck Weaver had NOTHING to do with the World Series Fix.
Buck Weaver batted .324 in the World Series, and his Fielding was Perfect. No one suspect Buck Weaver to be in on the take, with these Crooked Ball Players.
Buck Weaver solely got penalized, for not "Ratting On His Friends".

This is true. Admittingly, not a lot of research was put into this piece. (I mean, the bad guy is a character from "The Great Gatsby"). It was done as a school project and our shot of 3rd base was our best shot, so the third baseman was villianized
