Renton is a beautiful city located on the south shore of Lake Washington with spectacular views of the lake, the Olympics, the Cascades, and Mount Rainier. The fifth largest city in King County and the 11th largest city in Washington, Renton is quite literally at the center of an extensive regional and international transportation network. The Cedar River runs through the heart of Downtown Renton and offers an abundance of natural beauty.
Cedar River Trail through downtown Renton remains closed from the Senior Center at Logan to the Renton Library at Mill due to high water completely covering the sidewalks.

There are many fun things to do in Renton, including great restaurants, world-class parks for recreation, and unique places to shop. Renton boasts the highest number of restaurants per capita of the major cities in Washington, with choices ranging from fast food, to casual dining chains and local fine dining favorites.

Renton also has a diverse array of arts and entertainment, festivals, and events. Take in a performance at the Renton Civic Theater or the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center or take a cruise on Lake Washington from Southport with Waterways Cruises.

The City of Renton is home to premier destination shopping, including the first IKEA in the Northwest, and the only Fry's Electronics in Washington. Downtown Renton also provides shoppers with eclectic shops and an Antiques District to explore.

For more information about things to do in and around Renton visit the Renton Chamber of Commerce or the Washington State Tourism website. To learn more about Renton's history, check here, or stop by the Renton Historical Museum during your visit.

Renton is also a great place for travelers visiting the greater Puget Sound area. The city is centrally located for easy travel to the cities of Seattle and Bellevue and offers first-rate accommodations at reasonable prices making Renton the perfect place to stay for business travelers, tourists to the region or for visiting family members from out of town.
