@sweetbearish Actually it is a phenomenon among kids locally and globally.Even the malays like to pretend to be like Mat Salleh.P.Ramlee 's version is Romy! Fat is short for Fatimah, Lat for Latifah, and so on and on.And chinese, what can you say? Almost all the western educated have English name at the beginning!.It is a sign of youth living happily, no racial overtone, at first I thought it was a bunch of black niggers from New Orleans ! @benhcw exactly. but now, in this day and age, their actually getting angry if anyone pokes them. it's very awkward.and i as an malaysian indian, say that the malaysian indians now are just too sensitive. take the the interlok book for example. it was written a year after malaysia received independence! its history! and yes, we stereotyped the tamilians as pariah but that was history! we dont do that anymore.
i think it's good to have western influence. that way we have the best of both!

The most awesome commercial ever. I am not Malaysian. But I have a question. Is Malaysian Indian youth known for parroting western culture or is Malaysian youth in general under the severe influence of western culture? In other words, was this commercial addressing a real issue among the youth in Malaysia?

@thissar woah first time im commenting on my own vids. anyway to answer your question, which youth around the world do not parrot western culture? over in malaysia the general youth in the cities tend to mimic others. but as you can see in this ad its still a very healthy mix of western culture with local culture. its not really an issue just poking fun at indians living in the city
