  • In technical terms of 'how good' a guitarist is; I find it fascinating how Jeff Beck can be simultaneously the most over rated and under rated guitarist in the whole world.

Every second of his playing exudes the nature of true art. He connects with something pure and real. One second he's the most brilliant technical master with a command of feedback rivalled only by Jimi Hendrix, then the next he might not grasp what he was reaching for. But it's all genuine, real, pure emotion and feeling.

  • @MrBluesrules Dude I love Jeff Beck. He is number 2 for me. Nobody will ever trump Hendrix is what I'm saying. He became a legend with a 4 - 5 year career. Nobody will ever bring electric guitar to the masses like Hendrix did, or be as influential over so many different kinds of guitarists. You can take that as an insult if you want, but after all the music I've heard I'm convinced that Hendrix is THE best rock/blues/RnB guitarist of all time.

  • @Sco22

That's all fine with me. It's no insult. What I took exception to was that you said it took Jeff Beck years to develop. He got better as would be expected. BUT, Jimi had his rough edged unstylized begginings too. His 4-5 year career began much earlier with Chas Chandler from the Animals, and Phil Isley, and that's where he learned his style. Give a listen to "Who's that lady" You'll swear its Jimi. I like both guitars.
