The LL Bean Waterproof Sling Bag seemed to be the ultimate pack for the fly-fishing photographer; providing plenty of room for both camera gear and fishing gear, all under the notion of being "Waterproof". Before putting thousands of dollars of photo / video gear in the bag, I decided to put it through some tests. SPOILER ALERT: The bag passed the shower test, but didn't pass the bathtub test. Is it the perfect bag? Only you can decide.
@HONEYHOLEDIPPER Sorry, I just came across this comment. I ended up going with a LowePro DryZone Rover bag. It is 100% waterproof (zipper style.....so not fool proof) but gives me enough gear for my camera, a few lenses, travel tripod, lunch, flash and a couple of fly boxes, and some drink. All in all, it is a bit big; but is about perfect when i need to bring extra gear for my 10 year old daughter when we go fishing or when i am wanting to focus on shooting some photos.
