Inspecting/changing the brake pads on a Chinese scooter:

the brake caliper and pads should be serviced or at least inspected every 5000 miles and if they are less than 3mm in thickness should be replaced, remember to use only brake pads made for your specific bike, never use a cheap Chinese replacement part that "looks" similar.
