Hotch would not allow anyone to hug him, no matter the situation, unless it was Reid or season one. He was happier in season one. Then the Elle fiasco happened and he wasn't happy anymore. So now the only one allowed to hug him is Reid. Their father/son relationship is cute, when they let it show.
