Funny how people suddenly get a grasp of atonal music when it's used in movies.

this is used too brief in the movie.

Penderecki is my absolute favorite composer. He just writes the perfect scary music. It's not cliched or over the top; it is perfectly disturbing and eerie.

in what part of hte movie appears?

The maze chase music in The Shining is confusing because it appears to be a mix and match of about 2 or 3 Penderecki pieces (Kanon for Tape, Kanon Paschy, Ewangelia, and De Natura Sonoris No.1 or 2) But the above Penderecki piece is the main piece over which the other snippets are overlaid. I'm not sure that the above is the original recording tho.

@nickleus1977 and @thx291. I am of the opinion that thx291 is correct. I have every piece of music from The Shining (originals) and this is the only piece that is not featured in any documentation about The Shining. I own the original Utrenya recording and have searched the entire CD for the piece of music that is played under the scene where Jack breaks in the MAIN door to his caretakers room to the part when he says "Here's Johnny!" and the Maze chase. This appears to be it.
If you have "youtube downloader", can you download every music track on youtube;)

1:54 - This was also used in "The Shining" at the end when Jack is chasing Danny through the hedge maze.
