Top Cow and Bandai Entertainment proudly present the Witchblade, diving into the popular world of manga with this authentic Japanese series. Takeru is an average schoolgirl being raised in a Buddhist monastery by a group of nuns. Except for the forbidden wicked-looking claw locked in a box that keeps appearing in her dreams! Originally serialized in Japan's popular magazine Champion Red and written by Witchblade Anime head writer, Yasuko Kobayashi , this uniquely Japanese tale is considered part of the Witchblade canon. Now available for the first time for an American audience in standard comic format and in full color, plus this first issue is double sized for the same low price! • You've probably figured this out already, but just so others don't get the wrong idea, Witchblade Takeru does exist in color. It was originally B&W in Japan, but Top Cow had Blond color in the artwork so that it could be repackaged and sold to your average American comicbook junkie.

In the US, you can find two versions: one sold as a manga in B&W, and the other sold as a comic in color. IIRC, the manga sells for $9.99 while the comics sell for $3.99 but contain only one chapter a piece.

  • Looks great!!
