Not being an Italian speaker, I don't connect to the lyrics. It feels more joyous faster with a bounce. But I don't believe that just because a tempo is suggested that it must be performed that way. Art is interpretive and should be allowed to have liberties taken in the name of performance.

Se conosci veramente il brano, dovresti sapere che il ritmo è giusto così. Basta guardare lo spartito o anche solo leggere il titolo per capirlo.

It's funny - I can understand them going slower for the acoustics of the space... but that's dirge like.
