Great rendition Mark. Kudos! This has to be the most difficult songs to sing. You did it justice!
-
I always loved that song. It's difficult to do because of the time that the song is in and i love the orchestation. A+ on the vocals and the pianist did an excellent job because there is alot going on in that song and you don't miss really miss it. Great job.

Love your version of the song...and I think the song is extremely difficult to sing even with your lowing the key from Dionne's version. You should be proud, I have heard many singers struggle with the song, you did great!!

Then it goes to show that Mr. Lee has no fear and in fact does a very creditable job on the song. Remember, no one sounds like Dionne Warwick, he*k, not even Dionne Warwick sounds like herself anymore. Mark plays it smart and sings it to HIS strength, a gentler sound.
Cheers,
Benny.

Great Job ! I 'm sure this must be a Bacharach song.
-
Awesome! I think it's Dionne Warwick's song and she's amazing. It was really great...
-
Nice version.I hear a little Al Jarreau in his vocal style.
-
Very good!
-
Can't stop enjoying this version..A difficult song and Mark nails it
-
One of my favorite Dionne songs, and you delivered. That is not an easy song to sing, sir.
-
great job. great ear for pitch
-
This is a brilliant song, and I'm impressed that you chose to sing it, because I never hear anyone else sing it since it was a hit. Really nice voice.
-
Please let me see your face, mark. Closeups! Time for his closeup, please, Mr. DeMille!

It hampers you to hold onto the mike stand - you can't gesture that way. Experiment w opening your mouth as wide as possible on yr sustained vowels; use the back of your tongue to shape the vowel while keeping the mouth as wide as possible. You're shrugging yr shoulders to emphasize which means tension there. Use yr diaphragm to push more air for the accented notes. Yr breath can then support those wonderful vibrato tones (such nice resonance). Articulation is very gd! Lk at your audience!

Excellent singer, reminding me of a young Johnny Mathis with the same amount of talent..Big career for this guy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
OK..you are now officially my best friend...we both love Dionne and Deniece...excellent job Mark!
-

-

A tough song to sing really well. You did a great job.I like the ending, better than the single held note shown in my piano copy.
Vocally speaking, this song is not that hard to sing, if you can nail the last note.
Obviously you can song it in lower key (Dionnes version is much higher).
However, the real agony is if you are a musician in a band trying to play this song (precisely the way Bacharach wrote it), you are going to be in all types of trouble. You see, it features very complicated time-signature progression eg: 3/8, 4/8,3/8,4/8,6/8.

Thanks for the constructive critique. I appreciate it! Yes, it's a little easier to navigate the song even in a lower key, but like Nikray said, it still isn't an easy song to sing in general, especially with the fluctuating time signatures you mentioned. You have no idea how happy I was when I got through it! Completely relieved!
