Complicated [[Chapter 1]] Sequal to Secret Life of the East High Teenager

McKell POV
Its been a month and a half since Joe left. I did try to call him so that we could at least talk, because Nick told me what I said while I was drunk. But I couldnt get a hold of him so I went to New York, but lets just say that didnt fix anything. If anything it made things worse, but Ill talk about that later. All I can say is that it hurt me. It left me a mess. For the first week I stayed in my room. My mom was worried about me. My dad and Troy were still gone so they didnt know. Nick came over every day. He sat on my bed with me. We didnt talk. We just sat there. Occasionally he would take my hand and rub it comfortingly or he would bring me into a hug and rub my back. But after that I decided that I had enough. I wasnt going to let Joe ruin everything that I was. I had confidently kissed Nick the next time he came over. He was shocked but kissed me back. Its true, I do love Nick. Weve been dating since. We will always have something. But part of me was still upset about Joe. I didnt want to admit that, so I turned to drinking and partying with Callie.

I had just come home from the bar with Callie. I got to my room to see Nick sitting on my bed.

Nick: Where were you?

McKell: with Callie.

Nick: Doing what?

McKell: Dont worry, I just had one beer.

Nick: I thought you werent going to do that anymore?

McKell: It was just one.

Nick: This isnt like you.

McKell: what isnt?

Nick: the partying.

McKell: It was at one point in time.

Nick: and you swore you wouldnt do it again. But ever since Joe left you have been. You arent over him.

I could hear the hurt in his voice.

McKell: I am Nick. It hurts yeah, because I lost a friend, but Im over him. I love you.

I grabbed his hands and pulled him up.

Nick: Please stop doing this.

McKell: Ill try.

He put his hand on my cheek then pushed back my hair. I leaned in and kissed him. He moved his arms to wrap around my waist and pull me closer to him. I put my arms around his neck and moaned when his tongue hit mine. He pulled away.

Nick: I love you.

McKell: I love you too.
