Space...time...ideas...options...Northern short tailed shrews only live about 2 years. I read somewhere that they don't sleep so they can get as much life in as possible. This has been one of the most challenging videos I ever made. It is hard to edit the shrew due to they are very fast. Filmed this in Oct 2008 and spent a year editing. Then I waited to find just the right music which I finally found today. Music from CCmixter. Thank you for sharing! hvit Vinterlys by Teru. http://ccmixter.org/files/teru/23985 A mix of Gurdonark and Sack Jo22. Music at ending montage by Hepepe.hu. Called Budapest-Oslo-Allen http://ccmixter.org/files/hepepe/23957 which is a mix of the work of Gurdonark and Queenie music.

  • not gonna lie, these little suckers are a huge NUISANCE in my garage up here in MN lol. Especially during the winter months. They come into the garage to live, and they rip open the birdfood bags and spill seeds all over! They are cannibalistic as well. I have caught shrews in mouse traps and when I go to check the traps, they have usually been torn apart and eaten by other shrews! They need to eat constantly, as their heart beats at over 1200 beats per minute! yes, I said 1200! Mine is 60 BPM

  • That little chap has to master a lot in two short years of its life. Wonderful footage, I am left wondering if this little one still survives, or maybe there are offspring to rejuvenate. Thank you for the share my dear Raine truly absorbing x♥x

  • Transcending...what a beautiful word...Thank you:))

  • Thank you:D
