The Dark Eye Part 1- Introduction

The Dark Eye was developed by inScape in 1995 and is based around the works of Edgar Allen Poe, namely the Cask of Amantillado, The Tell Tale Heart and Berenice.

In this walkthrough I will also attempt to find the two extra stories included in the game as well as one poem.

And yes, it is a point and click.

My apologies about my recording quality, I can't afford to buy any right now so I use Camstudio. The audio is a little meh but it will have to do.

If you want to play through the game yourself you can search for Home of the Underdogs. A site that not only has this but also thousands of games that have been discontinued. This particular game however requires special install requirements so be prepared for a little extra work.

Is there a certain order you have to play everything in this game? I did everything in the video except in a different order, yet no matter what I do I can't get into the altered reality.

@GFox300 There is nothing about the order in which you play the stories that would effect getting into the 'dream world'.

It may be your game in itself having the issue.

@awlawla I don't know. the movies or animations don't seem to work properly using Dosbox. All of them skipped (except for 'go ahead on in') when i tried to play it. Not to mention all the times it crashed on me. Setting up Windows 98 on VirtualPC and running the game through that doesn't produce the same issue, I can play it now!

BTW I'm on Windows 7 64bit, if anyone knows to get this to work via Dosbox please tell me!

So I got this up and running, using Dosbox, but the audio is weird. I can only hear parts of when people are talking. For example, when the old man opens the door, he skips directly to "go ahead on in", not saying the things before that.

Anyone know what to do?
