My Grandfather who sadly passed away built a huge HO gauge layout. This set was in his collection it was so hard to get this set to stay on the track.
Yep. I had one too. 1981 or 1982 I think. Used to beg to be taken to Kay-Bee toy store at the mall on Saturdays to pick up new accessories. I miss the good old days!
I have both the chattanooga and royal blue locos. I have several of each version and restored them to operating condition and have a few mint in boxes too,the royal blue being my favorite as i loved its paint job.
I have this kit somewhere. The engine was pretty but a real looser. The motor was in the tender, the steamer was just for show. It started stripping gears within days. Pretty but we were in the store buying a new loco before New Year.
Maybe TYCO should have used the Pacific steamer & passenger cars that made up the Royal Blue set for the Chattanooga Choo Choo? Anyone with a Royal Blue set have a comment?
I'll try to get one of these locos at a train show. Very Cool!
