The El Nino is slowly starting to weaken in the eastern Pacific which could mean a more active hurricane season for the Atlantic basin than last year. I also talked about the severe weather outbreak that we had here in south Florida, showed some pictures of a rain rapped tornado in Fort Lauderdale. In the central Pacific there was two powerful cyclones that formed, Ului became a category 4 cyclone at one point and hit Australia as weaker system while cyclone Tomas hit in the Fiji groups. Also a rare southern hemisphere storm tropical storm Anita formed off Brazil last March of this year it became a pretty healthy tropical storm but did not affect anyone, the last time a storm formed in that region was back in March 2004.

  • This 2010 hurricane season was a COMPLETE bust! Just proves weather forcasters dont know JACK when it comes to predicting hurricanes...

  • @Fox250R The season pretty much started really slow after Alex formed then picked up by late August. The season is not over yet we still have a couple of weeks to go and October can be a real active month in the Caribbean especially during la nina years.

  • NHC released the list of names storms for 2010 @ the beginning of this year, they have included the name Nicole which it is the same name for a 1998 storm, don't we have free will to choose names?, cant we just avoid repeating them just to avoid confusions?

  • @SmoothCriminalHN The NHC does not release the names for the hurricane season they are released by the world meteorological organization and the names are repeated untill that specific name gets retired by creating massive destruction and loss of life.

  • @TogetherinParis Like i said before the oil spill in the gulf has nothing to do with tropical cyclone formation and infact the only reason why the gulf was protected was because there was strong ridgeing over there protecting the gulf from getting any storms that move into the region.

  • @floridaboy0523 Notice that the Gulf of Mexico has been protected from hurricanes since we last communicated? NOAA is full of myopic dullards who lack basic physics education and intelligence. Hopefully the oil will persist long enough to protect us again next year, too.

Meanwhile consider using biodegradable oil release buoys, boys. It may take you a season or two to learn how to position and use them properly. Keep the flights through nurseries, too, to interfere with storm formation.

  • @TogetherinParis The oil spill has nothing to do with hurricanes and it has nothing to do with this video. Its not going to weaken them or strengthen them. And every hurricane season you at least see 6 hurricanes for the average season.

  • There won't be any hurricanes. Oil slick! Look around you, and the past, for new correlations. We are wasting so much money on these nerds who can't understand basic physics. Oil lubricates, less friction, less 'pull' on the water, lower storm surge. Brain? Yes, use it!

  • @1weathernut The only similarity i see to 2005 is the SST'S and that generally does not mean that were going to get a crazy hurricane season because everything else how to play out just right to have an active year. But i do agree that we may see the season start to get really busy by the time we get towards middle of August into late October but so far we have started out pretty slow.
