For those of you who think the Russians only beat college kids...look at how they dominated the NHL in '79. Not to mention barely losing the summit series, and winning a Canada cup. If you want to talk recent times, watch them dominate Canada in the 30 minutes to win the World Junior Championships this year on Canadian ice. Their next chance to really shine will be the 2014 Olympics IN RUSSIA. Should be awesome if the NHL guys are allowed to play!

88 U|S team was so talented, and so POORLY coached! It is a real shame we didn't get to see Fetisov in the NHL in his prime... he was the Russian equivalent to Larry Robinson. Even in his later years playing for NJ and DET, he was a solid player(except for his brain fart on the Matteau goal) As far as the 88 US team goes, if they had better coaching on the D side of things they would have done much better, as they were one of the MOST SKILLED teams in the tourney!
