@Mitchz95 Exploring to find new planets for the empire to conquer? Before any interstellar empire can conquer anything, they need to scout out unexplored space first to see what they need to do to conquer it as attacking races that they know nothing about would be foolish and cause them to possibly lose or at least suffer heavier losses then necessary.

Pretty good, I love the Doomsday Machine reference. The only thing I don't get is why - according to Kirk - the Enterprise's mission is apparently still of exploration and not conquest.
