Nobunari Oda - New Cinema Paradise

A figure skating montage created while waiting for Nobu's return to the figure skating world.

The montage was inspired by the Cinema Paradiso (Cinema Paradise) movie. It's one of the most beautiful movies we've ever seen; both funny and sad. It's one of those movies when you can't help but cry laughing and cry in sorrow; a beautiful portrayal of the role of art and love in human life.

Cinema Paradiso gave me the same feeling I experience while watching Nobunari's programs and shows. In Nobunari's case the feeling is stronger, though; because the movie, as beautiful as it is, is merely a polished human creation - I think it is infinitely more difficult to inspire people just by being oneself, by being a good human being than by the act of creation.

I'm not a genius when it comes to the art of living and I would probably fail trying to inspire anybody that way; but if I can manage to put at least a small portion of the emotions I have felt into the montages or pictures I create, I will be happy enough with that.

The love theme of Nuovo Cinema Paradiso is of Andrea, Ennio Morricone's son.

Thank you. The music I used, however, is not the "Love Theme" from the Cinema Paradiso OST (which is shorter - 2:28, and played on different instruments), but a symphonic arrangement released on a CD with Ennio Morricone music. It was credited as "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso (titoli) by Ennio Morricone", so I credited it as such here. :) I'll add in the despription that it is an arrangement of Andrea's "Love Theme", though.

I love it as well. Actually, I watched it for the first time because Nobunari mentioned it in one of the interviews. He said that he loves films with good acting, and watches them to learn how to perform. He mentioned "Nuovo Cinema Paradiso" as his favourite and skated to its soundtrack twice. :)

He returned to figure skating about two weeks ago. He skated at Nebelhorn Trophy and won. His score would have placed him on podium at last Worlds, despite the fact that as a "newcomer" his PCS were low, and one spin was removed from the LP.

Nobu is now being trained by Morozov. His choreo is by L.Nichol (I suspect Morozov will give him new programs come Worlds). Nobu still looks not his usual self and very nervous, but is very kind to fans and appreciates support (my friend was at Nebelhorn).
