1984 Kawasaki GPz 550 Burnout - Mt Saint Helens Descent

A little burnout and roll on from an area coming back from Mt. Saint Helens Volcanic Area. It was too hot to wind it all the way out, but you get the idea for a 25+ year old motorcycle with an air-cooled inline 4 cylinder.

Where did you find a 150MPH speedo? That can't be stock, can it?

@geonerd Yes that is the stock speedometer for the 1984 & 1985 GPz 550. I don't think it would ever go that fast, even downhill, but it always gets peoples attention. :D

@bobedwardsjr Cool! I had an '83, and its speedo only went to 85 (?) or so.  Good to see something so politically incorrect on your bike. I think its trying to tell you that you need a turbocharger! :)

@geonerd Or a late 80's or early 90's 600 Ninja motor which fits almost perfectly in the frame. That would be good for an extra 20Mph. ;)

The loop around St Helens is great...one lane road with turnouts...its a fun route in a little car like a standard shift Datsun B210, too....lol!
