This bout is from the Regional Golden Gloves Open Division. The winner advances to the National Tournament. The National Golden Gloves Tournament is for boxers from 16-34 years of age. A 16 year old can compete to advance to National Golden Gloves Tournament only if the boxer's birthday is before August 1st.

USA Boxing's Open Division is from 17-34 years of age.

Your are correct. The JO's nationals is for boxers 15 and 16 years old.

@papoose1223 Yes, Gary Russell Jr. 2005 did it and so did Miguel Cartegena in 2009. Both were 16 years old when they won.
