Very very true! I was lucky to have seen him 7-8 times late 80s--97.....a few times within 10 feet or so at a small club like The Ark in Ann Arbor.....very electric event. Funny as hell and joyous. Got to meet him for a few just before he dies...back then I only sort of realized his brilliance.

@peacebeuponyou70 weather or not you are using alternate tuning, a guitar will go out of tune a tiny bit after each song you play. It is very importantant to have your guitar intune before you start a new song, so most guitarist check their tuning, alot of guitarist now adays use eletric tuners so you might not notice them checking the tuning. Its actually a bad thing to alway reliy on the ele. tuner, You should first learn to tune a guitar by ear before you buy an eletric tuner.

I love how he makes the audience included on his performance on a whole new level. It must have been magical to watch him perform live before he died.

@peacebeuponyou70 May not be the same story for everybody, but this guy is using a capo, and plays in about twenty different tunings a night. Not everyone can afford a differint guitar for every tuning (like Eric Clapton). This guy at least attempts to keep the audience occupied with conversation while he's doing it.

WOW he held that last note for a long time! It's funny, I always think of Hedges as a guitarist and sort of forget what a great singer he was....

this nigga is bad ass
Again I wonder why do guitarists tune their guitars just when they're about to perform, why not earlier before they appear on stage.

@peacebeuponyou70 Hedges used different, non-standard tunings for every song, so he had to retune every song. Later in his career, he had some backstage people tune guitars in advance in his setlist, and he'd switch between different guitars. But sometimes, he'd just feel like playing a tune he didn't plan for, and would tune on the spot.

@saxophonefreak101 Yeah, it really sucks. I'm just hoping things stay quiet on that front. Hate to lose anymore, or have them get YouTube to shut the channel down. ;(
