that is a good comment.
very true. lots of good to be had from studying, "new wudang"
and it does make it more popular and understood.
but if Lao Tzu could call himself a librarian,
these guys could tone down the propaganda a notch or 2, eh?
"origin of taiji all taiji styles under heaven"
that's the tao, not the modern wudang school.

the roots of taiji are in taoist philosophy and practice.
but taiji is also based on shaolin martial arts movements, and was developed in chen village as a kung fu style.
more to the point
Taoists in general wouldn't try to "have an official campaign" to promote their art.
this is a business deal being done by the chinese govt to get tourists to spend money.
The new Wudang is not the old wudang.

You have mentioned some good points. Wudang Kungfu is much older than it's little child Taijiquan which was called Taijigong first. The founder Zhang Sanfeng is obviously not one person.Daoist as you said don't have a worldly thinking they wouldn't try to apply for a patent back then.I would assume Taijigong must have been reported to Zhang Sanfeng only, afterwards by his descendants. The old wudang though eversince had have gongfu styles with fali moves and a lot of soft and hard, quick and slow

You're right! This campaign came out of the new wudang. Every thing is changing and always will, according to the Yijing and the cosmic changes between yin and yang. Also: Every medal has got two sides! Life could only be hypocritical! Good and bad bring each each other into being!
Consequence: I hypocritically love the new wudang, because it is now, it is real, it is beautiful and it has good things for me to learn. My master told me the old wudang masters would never have teached me. Probably!

Everyone wants to make money on the popular brand name..

@sdflyer28:hahaha I guess you're right. I think that's okay though. let's make taiji popular all over the world. it's holistic character is healthy for everybody, like many other holisitc arts too.I don't wanna campaign against other schools or something like that. I want to interchange with others styles. I'm searching for the truth though and think about all of the daoist content in taijiquan. Let's wait for the philologists and historians of china to find out more. I'm not trying to insult.
