  • I guess (if I understood correctly) her ugliness that only she herself could see was a figure/ a symbol for her depression. no one elese could see it because she hid it. then she chose to let her family see the ugly monster inside her (i.e. she told them about the depression) and could thus slowly change back to her normal self (cause she got help)

    I think it's trying to give you a better understanding of the idea that "Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it's not there" since the idea of Santa Clause is easy to think of when it comes to that saying. Thats just my opinion.

  • I have had depression for the last 3 years, and it can feel like you are at war against yourself :(
