Edmonton Police Photo Radar in Action

Last night around 11 PM my Beltronics STi Driver radar detector picked up a new photo radar truck - Grey Chevy Colorado (Alberta Plate FJA 109). Has a yellow bumper sticker that says "Support our troops". This was on Castledowns Road (113A Street) and around 134 Ave. They change everytime I pass by it seems. I had some fun watching it catch speeders. Here is a 2 minute video I put together. Enjoy!

@bhdhacksrus or you could be an upstanding citizen trying to make care in NOT speeding... how would you feel if "you just forgot how fast you were going" and accidentally killed a little kid?.. This city is full of speeders with NO regard for human life... don't blame the police for protecting the lives of others... grow up. be an adult.

@stalkervision K Band. The city have done away with these and switched to Ka band ones. More more effective. I could detect these older ones a mile away.

In lethbridge they have it set 11 km/h over= ticket. I'm assuming its the same in Edmonton.

so there was one parked on the side on 50st Edmonton at around 10pm it was a white van, i was going 70 in a 60 zone i spotted it about a foot away and pressed my brakes and reduced my speed to under 60 before passing it, there was no flash, did i get a ticket? do you have to be speeding when passing it to get a proper reading or dose it get you from a far?

@03jagx You didn't get a ticket. They tag you AFTER you pass them doing at least 10-12 over the speed limit (basically take a picture of your rear plate and send you a ticket in the mail a month later). No flash = No ticket
