This video illustrates the Peter Gorton FOOD IS FUN programme, which has been developed to help schools deliver elements of Food Technology and to promote healthy eating in the UK. Peter believes that in addition to children learning about balanced diets and the mechanics of food we need to communicate the fun of cooking and being able to produce healthy food that is good to eat. See www.foodisfun.org.uk for more information.
Peter Gorton is an experienced Masterchef. He is the Vice-President of the Masterchefs of Great Britain and was awarded a Michelin Star for his restaurant at the Horn of Plenty near Tavistock for nine straight years. Since the 1990s Peter has been putting on cookery demonstrations for all ages. He organizes the Taste of the Tamar Food and Craft Festival and makes regular appearances at other food festivals and on TV/Radio around the UK.
His travelling kitchen was designed and built by Castles Kitchens in Plymouth, and is available for full-day or half-day events throughout Devon and Cornwall. These demonstrations will focus on the fun of cooking and how to produce healthy food that is good to eat.
