EWG FOR THE WIN!!!
-
@stealth7769 no, looks like those were 7k shifts. STi gears are just ridiculously short.
-
gears are way to short, unless those were short shifts?
-
shoulda sold it and bought an sti for a 5k swap lol
-
god ewgs are loud!
-
@getsideways166 unless you use the sti dccd controller. which should be included from any decent dealer of used stuff.
-
sti tranny and clutch are the best for any mods but fuckers charge alot for it. funny how one subaru dealer told me some sti owners change their sti clutch after 500miles brand new car.. god damn. reecommand sti swap for any work done to a wrx. highly recommanded to any work done on a wrx

@5nallyg0d The transmission was bought new from the dealer in Chicago for 3,800, add in driveshaft, shifter assembly, 3.9 rear end, clutch, flywheel, dccd controller, and about $350 in labor and your over 5K, the controller was pretty expensive at $500 IIRC but its the best out there that i've seen very very programmable.

do you think i can just put dccd into a wrx or i need the whole tranny?

they did make some dccd 5spd in some older gen sti's but that wouldn't be any stronger than how your 5spd sits now, so basically yea you either need a 6spd or do a PPG build on your 5spd.
