The first step of the tennis forehand is the pivot and shoulder turn. You execute this step as soon as you realize that you are hitting a tennis forehand. This step also starts your tennis racket take back. It's important to note that your arms DO NOT DO ANYTHING during this step. It's the shoulders that start the racket take back on your tennis forehand. Simply put, your body turns sideways and the racket comes along for the ride. If you watch the video, when Frank demonstrates the pivot and shoulder turn during his tennis forehand, both hands stay on the racket.

  • can you post a video "will hamilton hitting in high definition"

  • haha I'll see what I can do

  • hi FYB2007, I am a beginner to tennis, can you suggest a video or some tips regarding tennis routines that maximize learning and mastering of various elements- warm up, forand, backhand, serving, rallying etc. I find that while I practise, there is an indecisiveness regarding what to do next etc. Can you suggest some tips?

  • hey vij. i'm not aware of a video online that goes through a practice session, start to finish. i think that if you pick an area of your game that you want / need to focus on and design your practice around that, perhaps that will help you remain focused and decisive.

  • where is monfils face ??

  • Hey dude. Just noticed that in every video where Gael Monfils comes up, you do not pronounce his name correctly. I'm not trying to be a jerk or anything, but I think it's better to pronounce the names of famous tennis players properly. In this case, it's Gael Monfils - the "s" at Monfil.s. is pronounced. In French, his family name literally means "my son". So, it's not "Gael Monfil", but Gael Monfils - with a pronounced "s" in the end.

    Cheers.

  • I need to practice this with my Wii

  • hopefully this helps. ive been doing it wrong the whole time but ive only been playing tennis for 3 days so far and ive been making a fool of myself :/ hopefully i get better using this, i love tennis yet i can barely play.

  • I cannot begin to tell you how much these videos have improved my forehand and serve. I take lessons regularly and play about 5 times a week, but I have always struggled with both of these shots. Thank you so much.
