Her talent IS there, but she seems a tad too hellbent on being eccentric. Slightly contrived. The song is pretty annoying, which distracts from her decent voice. Vanessa Carlton writes better stuff in her sleep.

If that were the case then it would just be a re-hash of album tracks or singles. Fact of the matter is she's written some exclusive material for some pretty abysmal movies. Good music, too.

Record labels aren't always the bad guys, folks. Anybody who's willing to take a chance on your talent and foot the bill to produce and promote your work and stick in you in a studio with Geoff Emerick cant be all that bad. And quite frankly they were right about "Pretty Little Head." It's too damn long. It would have been better as two separate albums.
