So sad he never got his shot in the NFL. These says he'd be a superstar. Mountaineers will always love and appreciate Major Harris. He made the state proud.

Anyone remember seeing that snippet on ESPN in 1988 where Harris threw a football -- from his knees on the 50-yard line -- through the uprights in the end zone? I can't seem to find it anywhere, but I know I saw it. Stunning.

Major was ahead of his time. IMO: He was the first true Dual Threat QB in college football. He never went to the NFL because he was a pioneer and the NFL wasn't ready for him.
