Found at http://www.nramuseum.org is the 4th edition of the Phil Noir Series featuring this famous gun. Extending November Film Noir month into December to honor more classic firearms at the National Firearms Museum, Phil Schreier and John Popp showcase the .455 Webley-Fosbery, a gun that made a notorious appearance in John Hustons 1941 version of The Maltese Falcon starring Humphrey Bogart. Schreier says that only 3,500 to 4,500 of these guns were made during the production period of 1901 to 1946, and he demonstrates the unique technology that allows this firearm to be an automatic revolver. http://www.nranews.com/#/nationalfirearmsmuseum/VideoModule/CurCor%20455%20We...

  • can i still buy this gun or get one custom made ?

  • @craigh937 They are no longer made. They do surface from time to time in the collector firearms market. You have to walk a lot of gun show aisles to find one though! -- Jim

  • @pentogram23 A revolver is a kind of pistol.

  • Well done !!

  • @NFMCurator Are the guns they make to today any better then the guns from the past, I mean I think I would love to still shot with a M1918 BAR or a Thomson. I mean They could still make the gun with modern rounds 7.62×51mm NATO/5.56×45mm NATO OR 9mm/.22 LR.

  • its not a pistol its a revolver...

  • @craigh937 If you're REAL lucky. I ran across one over on Stockton Street, a few years back.

  • @craigh937 The Webley-Fosbery might be insanely difficult to track down, but standard Webley Mk IV or VI revolvers are still plentiful. Expect to pay an insane amount for a quality antique firearm though.

  • It also appeared in the run down

  • one other film this firearm appeared in was "zardoz" starring sean connery
