For every opposition member that Mr. Lee Kuan Yew has jailed or sued, numerous family members have suffered untold misery. However, these poor wives, husbands and children - not to mention, elderly parents too - have never been in the limelight, and thus, have, till now, suffered in silence, with no one taking note of their plights.

Not anymore. Starting with Singapore Democratic Party (SDP)'s Dr. Chee Soon Juan's family, Singapore's opposition members and human rights activists are now more actively involving their family members in their struggle for democracy for all of us. Thus, we can now see for ourselves how entire families of opposition members are put through misery, and bullied by the People's Action Party (PAP).

In this video, we shall see one of Mr. Lee's greatest achievement - how he succeeded in making a little girl cry. Bravo! Let's give him some much-needed applause. After all, he had already failed to get Dr. Chee to cower. So this achievement of getting his daughter to cry instead, must really mean a lot to Mr. Lee. LOL!

But I want to warn you first: It is morally repulsive to see someone being bullied very badly and then argue that he should stop complaining about being bullied, or that he deserved to be bullied, or that he should not involve his children (as if keeping the children away from the public's eye, will help make them not cry in private!) Everyone can see through such cheap tricks - to shift the blame from the bully to the bullied.

So, don't be lazy. Cook up something more "rational", and "reasonable" while trying your best to trick everyone with some half-baked "logic". I suggest prefacing each of your comment with a "I am not a pap supporter, but we have to give it credit for ..." followed by some twisted arguments that hold no water e.g. you can equate Singapore to PAP and then claim that bashing PAP - the political party - is unpatriotic and equivalent to putting down Singapore - the country! Good suggestion? Either way, show us your ball-carrying skills. Remember to throw in a few warnings about the authorities monitoring this site too. We are all waiting for your entertaining performance. So let the show begin! lol

It's a simple issue here: The Opp offeres a check and balance.. and Chee is lacking in qualities as a statesman.. his rough house tactics need to be toned down.

I disagree because I think Chee's "rough house" tactics is the only way to force a stubborn big bully to tone down. For eg, if not for Chee's tactics, would the govt has finally legalised protest at hong lim park? The thousands of minibond holders who protested and spoke there weekly have Chee to thank!

Finally, most of the so-called "rough" tactics are the result of a bias 154th-ranked media that deliberately highlight things out of context. LKY is even rougher - media censored it for him

I am Wendy Neo and I am of course in Australia, just as I said on my profile page! It is amazing how people can ignore the truth staring right at their face, and prefer to come up with strange conspiracy theory. Maybe it helps justify the salary they receive from the PAP INTERNET BRIGADE hq? lol

it is NOT abt whether PAP or SDP etc is better. All parties may start out well (pap was quite gd in 1960s) but later they will inevitably become corrupted (eg PAP post 1990) due to excessive power - absolute power corrupts absolutely.

It is abt DEMOCRACY and CHECK AND BALANCE. We must support SDP and other oppositions not because they are better than PAP, but because we need multi-parties to MONITOR and COMPETE with each other. This is gd for the sake of sg.

renj123, Chee did not do any stupid thing. He *appeared* stupid because the media is ranked 141st and biased and you got all your info from there!

Read his book excerpts from yoursdp org, and read abt what his party did recently, and point out to me *exactly* which part of these (now minus PAP's censorship), that makes you can't trust your future to him.

Because now, you are talking only in general terms and making sweeping allegations without the backing of any evidence!

Why would you find him annoying unless you are from PAP?

Eg. Chee fought for years against PAP for our rights to peaceful assembly and finally, PAP now relented and allowed limited protest in Hong Lim Park. Recently, thousands of Singaporeans who suffered in the MINIBOND saga were able to enjoy assembling in hong lim park thanks to Chee's effort!

You haven't heard anything +ve, because you CHOSE not to hear! Chee wrote EIGHT books, each 100s of pages, to explain BOTH the problems AND the solution.

You should do yourself a favour by going to sdp's website and read excerpts of Chee's latest book before embarrassing yourself asking: "how you're gong to solve it".

PAP has no soln. When pple suffer, it says it's due to global economic problem and it can't do anything. When global problem solved, it takes unfair credit for it!
