NOTE: To everybody saying this isn't from Symantec, but is from some other company pretending to be Symantec: Part two of this video shows the digital signature verification of the program, demonstrating that it is, indeed, from Symantec.
First of two videos segments showing a serious problem with false positives in Norton PC Checkup.
It's encouraging you to buy Norton 360, which will supposedly clean all these infections off, but the infections are not there to begin with.
This is the modus operandi of various rogue antivirus/antispyware companies. Get a scanner on your machine, report plenty of infections that aren't really there, then charge you for the cleaner. All the cleaner does is turn off the warning from the scanner.
Now, apparently, Symantec has decided to use the same sleazy marketing tactics to sell their software.
This video shows the scan starting, and has commentary from myself on what's going on.
The second video shows the end of the scan, and the false positives that it generates. You can view it here:

@cbiltcliffe antivirus name like Kaspersky,Symantec,AVG but Symantec never gives rogues and will never. We only care about antivirus/internet security and that your rogue found is PC Tuneup and not some antivirus rogues.SO no danger can be happen.

@cbiltcliffe well now I understand your question(Sorry bro but im learning english because I dont from USA)A rogue have to do:Infect your pc,pop up for viruses warnings, buy page, warns you to scan and needs activation code...and some more....Visit my channel and go rogues antiviruses...I think you will find there. But I dont think if this is from Symantec.Anyway if I found out that is from rogue(For example I download Norton PC Checkup like your video)Because all rogues can give

@thepredatorwinner Do you know what a digital signature is? It guarantees that the program was from Symantec. It is a rogue from Symantec. Look at part two of this video for proof of the signature.
How do you define a rogue? How the hell can I give you more details on my question? It's a simple question. I don't see how I can be much more clear, but I'll try: What does a program have to do, minimum, for you to call it a rogue?
cbiltcliffe 3 weeks ago
@cbiltcliffe so now I understand why you call it rogue but you truth. If you downloaded some other unknown files or what, restarted pc and then popped you that rogue. But I dont think it is ROGUE from SYMANTEC but it is ROGUE from someone...Thats all I know and what you mean how you define a rogue?Give more details about your question
thepredatorwinner 3 weeks ago
@thepredatorwinner I didn't. It was on a machine that came in to be fixed. The binaries were digitally signed by Symantec, so it was definitely from them, rather than somebody using their logo.
Now you answer my question. How do you define a rogue?
cbiltcliffe 3 weeks ago
@cbiltcliffe forget everything we talked about it!Just tell me.Where did you downloaded this "rogue"?
thepredatorwinner 3 weeks ago
@thepredatorwinner Ok, you've put pretty much squat into this conversation.
So what's your definition of a rogue? It's obviously different than most of the industry. Enlighten us, oh wise one.

@cbiltcliffe nvm....Talking to someone guy who dont know about rogues...Lets end the talking about that...

@thepredatorwinner Chewbacca much? Or was that just plain old backpedalling?
What the hell has new or old got to do with it? A rogue is a rogue, regardless of what year it came out. Sure, capabilities change with time, but the publisher's end desire is to part you from your money, one way or another.
Whatever you're calling it, Symantec still engaged in what looks like nothing more than fraud, in an attempt to sell you their software.

@cbiltcliffe oh you dont know enought about this ^^...I meant the new rogues 2011-2012 and not the old which that cant do anything
