increased current =]
they are there to restrict the flow of the magnetic flux around the core, removing them will unleash the power of the dark side.

No, the transformer is unmodified. What will happen if I remove the shunts?

did you basically just hook up the mot to the mains and to a jacobs? did u use only one mot? how were you able to get the arc to start at the bottom of the ladder without any manual taping ? cause they dont run on high enough voltage to do this by themselves,, i was thinking to run high voltage across bottom of ladder neck via FBT in order to assist in arc start to solve this problem hmmm I wonder if anyone has tought to try this cause i havent seen nothing like this, so i will take credit lol

Won´t the fuse set off because of the amount of energy travelling back? Sorry, I have no idea about that stuff, I´m just curious.

@sorrow31415 what about drowning it in mineral oil and freezing it.

to keep it cool you can put it in some non conducting oil

i got cancer just from watching this
Hi, very cool! Noticed a faint square shape pop up at 32 seconds, any idea what it is? Transformer effect or camera?

@MagnetoFreako
If you mean the square shape in the center of the video, it's just a cross-fade effect from movie maker.

how do u prevent the mot from getting hot ????

@KRAYSLiCK999
I try to keep the power on time as short as possible. Longer operation of the mot will result in overheating of the primary coil. Unfortunately, there is no efficient cooling method for mots.

How do you generate the pulses?
Orlando4163 1 year ago
@Orlando4163 The pulses are manually triggered with a one side insulated piece of metal.
