Tony Woodcock receives a penalty for a malicious charge on Saia Fianga during the 2010 Tri Nations,

Whilst Bakkies Botha previously received a two week ban for a text book clearing of the ruck, where Adam Jones was unfortunately injured in a "wrong place, wrong time" incident.

Just another example of the clear bias in IRB/SANZAR citing protocols

  • Hey people. Remember the good ol days when rugby was played by men and the supporters didn't carry on like an auuie rules or soccer crowd at the slightest little knock. Wake up people and get over your petty whinging about who should have been penelised or who the nastiest player in the world is. We used to love this sport because is WASNT played by poofters.

  • @StuartHawkins74 what are you on?? Bakkies is clearing out and over the ball. Fianga is no ware near the ball. The AB players are great, its their supporters and commentators that are the soft cocks. you don't hear the players complaining

  • @thestaggie I just went over them as well... lets just say its probably going to be the most highly anticipated match of the tournament whenever they play.

  • @CrazyEvo5

Alberts is a force of nature! Too bad I don't get to see him in a Lions jersey anymore but he made a smart career decision to join the Sharks. That's true, the AB-'Boks games are highlights of our calendar, and it cuts us when we play as horribly as we did last season against your boys. I've been over the fixtures and unfortunately there is likely not to be no AB-'Bok final at the RWC. If we win our group, we're on course for a semi-final showdown.

  • @thestaggie Yep I agree he's a very good player. I really think Willem Alberts is a force to be reckoned with. Im watching his progress in the Super 14. He's a very tidy player with a lot of physicality. The All Black vs Springbok clashes are the best games to watch. Tonnes of physicality, great skill and passion on display. They definitely bring the best and worst out of each other... Thats why the fans tend to agree to disagree so much. All good see you in the RWC final mate!

  • @CrazyEvo5

Flip van der Merwe, his understudy at the Bulls and capped Bok is the future at #5. He is not as dominant as a Bakkies or Brad Thorn, but he adds enough muscle and so far has not shown to have a short fuse.

  • @CrazyEvo5

You know, I think Botha is not the same force anymore and he is slowly becoming a liability. Every South African will tell you that although they appreciate his physicality, they are aware of his mental lapses. He's going to France after the World Cup anyway, so his Springbok days are almost over. It's sad he is disciplined on reputation and that that rep also covers the rest of them. They need to focus more on the act and not entirely on the player committing the act.

  • @thestaggie Here mate I would tend to agree with you. There was nothing wrong with Botha's cleanout of the ruck in this instance. He was definitely hard done by. Its his reputation that goes against him though and its going to follow him around. SA should consider if they can live without the physicality that he brings minimising the risk of calls going against them. Im a kiwi and I think woody shouldve got carded for that shit.

  • a champion team can beat the rest even in the face of adversity

if the all blacks are being favoured there isnt a team that can beat them anyway

im an Aussie and proud of it but NZ are the best in the world..... this year

ohh and RSA suck it up botha being suspended was a good thing it halved your penalty count

  • how is that dangerous? Apart from being no where near the ruck and totally illegal it deserved a yellow card and penalty but certainly not a citing. Despite what blind people like Peter Bills think about no arms you can clearly see him wrap both arms around him. Botha on the other hand uses no arms whatsoever. Come on guys.
