This cutting edge micro notebook Winmo 6.1 touch phone is the Swiss Army Knife of handsets combining 4 main devices packing everything you need into one handy device. By maintaining significant similarity to familiar devices, the iCEphone minimizes any resistance (either real or psychological) to adopting a new device.

LONDON - Dorling Kindersley, the illustrated non-fiction publisher, has unveiled two new deals focusing on the health market as part of its plans to convert its catalogue into digital formats.
This deal brokered by DK takes content from the UK edition of the 'First Aid Manual', the only first aid manual to be written and fully authorised by St. John Ambulance, St. Andrew's Ambulance Association and the British Red Cross, and places it on a portable phone handset. This medical resource is aimed primarily at all travellers and the army, and will be on the UK market towards the end of 2008 as the ICE Phone (In Case of Emergency). The ICE phone's fold-out screens transfer the key step-by-step instructions of the Manual for on-the-spot and potentially life-saving support.

It integrates the skills you have already learned when operating other devices. Originally designed to meet the exacting requirements of the British military, the iCEphone is a combination of two exciting new products that can either work independently or together: a cross-platform medical software package and a phone that sets a new industry standard in convergence technology. The iCEphone features a 3-inch touchscreen, QWERTY, dual SIM cards, HSDPA 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and a 3.1MP camera.

  • i had and idea for a phone like this but with a slider ike 2 years ago

  • It was a great idea. Problem with sliders is that they tend to get tiny bits of dirt in places that are hard to clean. I imagine a grain of sand would be quite damaging. It is never too late for a great idea! Have you got any more?

  • lots more 1s like where there's a slider where the screen expands but that already exists in a handheld

  • I think the cool thing for the iCEphone is that it holds your medical records encrypted, can save a sequence of medical manuoevres and pass them on to your GP or hospital through the GPS Sat Nav. Lots of people need to carry their records for one reason or another and it would be particularly useful in a solitary or remote area, particularly for the Military. The first order of 100,000 will be in Thailand for the 1nst Q of 2009 and a smaller number in the UK

  • damn she fineeeeeeeeeee

  • i really didnt like tht phone wen i had it

  • The ICEphone came out of a problem British medical personnel had during the first Gulf War getting information about critically wounded soldiers past on to hospital personnel in the Middle East and back in the UK. What resulted was a multipurpose phone that can act as a laptop and a game console.
