This well-known Irish song probably originated in the nineteenth century. Brendan Behan used the tune for his song "The Old Triangle."

Here it is sung by Iris Benzie at a session of the Hong Kong Folk Society at The Canny Man. She is accompanied by Pete Benzie on guitar.

Apologies for the quality of the sound recording, which doesn't really do justice to the performance.

  • wonderful song...

  • Yes, a good one to sing along with.

  • beauitiful song done wonderfully. Even with the sound problems, the mood does come across. Still got goose bumps!

  • Pete and Iris are very popular performers at our folk club gatherings. They do this very well.

  • Really enjoyed

  • Thanks for watching.

  • LOVE THIS SONG THANK YOU

  • Thanks, Max. Despite sound problems I think it gets across the atmosphere quite well.

  • It is a lovely song, which I have never sung myself. I must try it some time.

  • Not as good as it would if I'd had better audio equipment! Thanks for watching.
