Some footage of the Maisy battery which lay undiscovered for over 60 years.... It is a liitle hard to find, but worth a visit. Located southwest of Maisy, at a place called La Martinière, this army battery was composed of four 105-mm guns. Just before D-Day, three of these guns were placed in casemates, the last one remaining in its open-air pit. As featured in BBC2 Timewatch with Richard Hammond.

  • visit Normandy 2times a year, and never knew this. shame.....tnx for the info !!!

  • Try and get to visit it as he has bought some more artillary and put them on site, oh plus a wooden landing craft. That was in September 2009.

  • The site now has a load of original WWII german cannons on the gun pits. There are also a load of new buildings which have been uncovered. Not to mention the German skeleton which was recovered a month a go!

  • Will take another look, back over in Normandy April 2009, motorcycle training and of course site seeing....

  • The site is looking great with those guns and now a landing craft........

    Still worth a visit
