1988 COMPAQ COMPANY PICNIC Part 1 of 2

Video footage of Compaq's 1988 company picnic in Houston, Texas. This was the year's biggest event on the Compaq social calendar every year and 1988 was regarded by many employees as the last year the picnic had that indefinable personal feel to it.

If anyone out there remembers/recognizes the facility where this picnic was held, please write me courtesy of this CompaqVet account so I can update this information.

In this video virtually everyone you see is a Compaq employee. Subsequent outings in later years were usually held at Six Flags Over Texas amusement park. Since Compaq couldn't afford to rent the whole Six Flags facility, we kinda got lost in the crowd.

Yes, Virginia, these were the good old days.

1988 good old days!! this picnic was so relax back them.miss it a lot! although at that time i was serviced as a solder in R.O.C. air force.first years of 3.

I heard a great deal about this picnic! Was hired early in 1989. Sure miss Compaq! Retired from HP in 2005.
