Where can I find the written instructions for this? What are the measurements for this?

For the sweater pattern I'm using it says this: "Next row: k3, ssk, to to last 5 sts, k2tog, k3. Rep this every RS row until 8 sts in total dec each side."
I had 96 stitches before this row and after the row I had 77. Did I do something wrong? I don't understand the "until 8 sts in total dec each side" part. Because I have 19 stitches left, did I do something wrong? I need help! This is my first sweater and I don't want to mess it up!

that's cool i used to develop that kind idea of knitting a sweater that way but i knitted bags for my dolls and some bags and neck wallets for myself. and my first scarves did'nt turn out right becuase they curl at the wrong stitch becuase i did'nt do it the way they did it on the ''how to knit a scarf'' video but i love the thicker and quicker yarn the best :D
