Catch Me: A Jonas Story Chapter 8

Hiii!! Happy birthday Joseph, and happy anniversary Mr&Mrs Jonas!
The peanut thing is going good. Though, I did have some trouble when choosing an ice-cream cone. I stayed strong and went with a cherry thing instead of the good o snickers. I am so so so sorry that i haven't been writing anything other than this. I really am but i just can't right now. I'm so sorry! Once I get into the new rutean when school starts again, I will try my best to continue them but no garentes. I'm sorry. I.. am really tired right now for some reason. I cant.. function hahahaha
Have you ever heard of Sixlets? the candyyy? they're heaven. I hpe you enjoy the chapter. ... I'm sorry if i'm disapointing you with this story. I'm doing my best, it's not great but apparently some people like it. hahah. I'm.. really depressed right now. I'm sorry. I told my mom that I was going to have a book in the library one day. That i was going to have my name writen in a beautiful book on a shelve. She laughed. And I just finished watching Marley and Me so I guess that's why I'm so sad. Whatever. Sorry. ranting. story. yeah.

Joe's POV.

Nick looked terrible. He looked worst than terrible. I wasn't expecting it. I thought that since they were taking so long, he wouldn't look as bad as he did before. I was wrong. He looked worst. The fluorescent lights made his skin look sort of green and more pasty than it probably was. His eyes were sunken and he looked exhausted. He had some scratches and bruises and his left arm was in a off white cast. I walked into the room more. I wasn't sure if he was asleep or not because his eyes were closed, so I sat down in one of the chairs off to the side and just looked at him. I couldn't believe that that is my brother. He doesn't look like him. Well, I suppose he does. The same curly brown hair and freckles; same nose and chin. Now that I think of it, his nose looked a little different. A little crooked and not Nickish. There was a small bandage covering it making the impression that he broke it. He stirred and blinked open his eyes, drawing me out of my inspection.

"Joe?"

I stood up and walked over to the side of his bed. I forced a smiled, "hi Nick." Before I could even think about asking or saying any thing, he sat up and stared at me with worried eyes.

"How's Ellie," he began, "is she okay? where is she? Is she okay?! What happened!? Where is she?!" He kept repeating the same questions over and over, all about Ellie. I could see how much she meant to him, and I could easily tell that it was a lot. I put my hand on his shoulder and shushed him.

"Ellie is okay. She's in another hospital room sleeping. I'll tell you what happened later." He let out a breath and sighed, his shoulders slumping back into the pillows.

"Are you sure she's alright?" Nick asked again, worry still laced in his hoarse throat.

"Nick," I replied, "she really is okay. I went to see her myself. She seemed tired and a little freaked out still over what happened, but she was fine, really." I let out a a breath. I could and I would do it. My heart didn't matter. All that mattered was my brother. "She was really worried about you."

"Really?" I nodded and finally saw that smile on his face. Even when he was alright and normal, he didn't smile too much, but when he did it was the most rewarding thing to see. I smiled back. We sat there for a few minutes smiling at each other, both in our own thoughts. Too soon his smile turned into a frown.

"What happened?" he whispered.
