Hey! Ha! Fascinating. I found your channel after going to the subscriptions list of someone (lanastompanato) that comments on mine, and it turns out that you are doing much the same thing as I. Pretty cool. I'll have to start watching your videos this evening when I get back home. Very cool.

"I would suspect though that what you call the soul will evolve over this time as well. "
Since we know so little about them, I expect that is true. But then at some point, that's all we have.

The "chosen people" is a name given to Israel, not to all of humanity. It is later used to describe Christians, analogizing them to israel as God's chosen.
Isaiah 65:9 "I will bring forth descendants from Jacob, and from Judah those who will possess my mountains; my chosen people will inherit them, and there will my servants live."
Colossians 3:12 "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience"
CS Lewis said "We have a body, we are a soul". That is what you aren't understanding. God doesn't have a carbon based body. It is our soul that is in his image. If a soldier loses an arm and leg, you think they are less in God's eyes? No. If science tinkers with DNA and grafts gills on us to swim and a 3rd eye on the back of our head, we are still in God's image, because it is our soul that matters. Not our bodies. Natural selection doesn't change our soul.

@lanastompanato I just don't get how this has anything to do with the contradiction of whether we are the final result or not.

@izbo10 after re-reading it i kind of do get what your saying now, i still don't know if it makes it work but it seems to be a bit of an explanation that makes it much closer to fitting together. I would suspect though that what you call the soul will evolve over this time as well.
