how to distill water or a liquid

This principal is pretty much known by anyone who has ever heard about a water still.

But I keep wondering how well or not something like this would work for achohol, same principal but I seem to remember it takes more heat, no?

@PeacefulVocalTrance With the black paint on the source bottle, i suspect the sun will create enough heat to to start turning some of the water to vapor.
