  • I love bus drivers!!

  • How sad that those drivers have to deal with that crap from someone they are trying to help in the first place. Why didn't the bus companies think of this safety device earlier?

  • Buses in Europe have had driver shields for years. Here in Calgary they have not been installed for cost reasons although most buses do have cameras they do nothing to protect drivers from attack.

  • we did this in dublin in the 9os

  • watch this grtc

  • @juliachan1987 Oh yeah I live in Detroit and it happens often look up" Detroit Bus Fight"

  • This problem is not confined only to DC. A lot of transit systems have problems with operator assaults.

  • @mallen88 we dont have those in vancouver canada and with some areas around here they should have em, but i think they are getting put on but very very slowly tho

  • best looking bust driver ive ever seen, only in america eh? all the bus drivers i get in vancouver canada are ugly and old and fat

  • It sucks to see what bus drivers have to deal with. To be able to communicate with passengers is necessary. I don't believe that this shield will be effective enough but in NYC, you can get up to 7 YEARS in jail if you assault a bus driver. That is the path other cities should follow. We do not have those shields in place and nothing usually happens to the drivers which is a great thing and this being a large city, if we can prevent crime towards bus drivers here, other cities can too.

  • Its about phuckin time! Europe has had those things for years, and Ive been sayin that the U.S should have these installed on all buses, including school buses. It should be mandatory by federal law, like the ada wheelchair stuff is mandatory by law. When I start my transit agency soon, all my vehicles will be fitted with these.
