This was one of the few Elvis records that hit big without the Jordanaires. They were not available for the recording date at Radio Recorders so RCA hired the Mello Men, whose bass singer was the legendary Thurl "Pappy" Ravenscroft, also known as the voice of "Tony The Tiger", and one of the best bass singers in the business.
